How power only dispatch works with our desk

Here is how power only dispatch works from the day you apply to the day your tractor hooks its first trailer with us: five steps, the documents to have ready, how you tell us the way you like to run, and how every load gets your yes before it is booked.

AIR LINES CONNECTED

From application to first trailer

Red line, blue line: like the gladhands on your tractor, each step only works once the one before it is connected. Most of the waiting happens at step four, where brokers and programs review your packet.

Timing varies with your authority age and how fast each broker clears setups.

  1. 1

    30 seconds

    Apply

Tell us your tractor, how many trucks and where your authority stands. That's it for the form.

  2. 2

    Day 1

    Intro call

A dispatcher calls to learn how you like to run: home base, lanes, home time, the lowest rate you will move for, and any brokers or programs you already work with.

  3. 3

    Day 1 to 2

    Agreement and documents

You sign a short month-to-month dispatch agreement (6% of gross, 5% for 2+ trucks) and send us your MC/DOT, W-9 and certificate of insurance. If you factor, we also need the notice of assignment.

  4. 4

    Day 2 to 3

    Broker setup packets

We send your carrier packet to brokers on your lanes, sign trailer interchange agreements with you where needed, and help you apply to trailer-pool programs. Some approve the same day; programs with stricter checks take longer.

  5. 5

    When a setup clears

    First load

We pitch your truck, negotiate, and bring you the load with the full math. You say yes, we book it and send the rate con. From there the desk runs check calls and plans the reload.

THE PACKET

Documents you need before the first load

  • DOC 01

    MC and USDOT numbers

Brokers and programs check your authority on FMCSA's registry before they set you up.

  • DOC 02

    W-9

Every broker needs one to pay you.

  • DOC 03

    Certificate of insurance

Auto liability, cargo and, for power only, trailer interchange or non-owned trailer coverage. Brokers get added as certificate holders.

  • DOC 04

Notice of assignment (if you factor)

Tells brokers to pay your factoring company instead of you. Skip it if you don't factor.

  • DOC 05

    Tractor details

Day cab or sleeper, year, VIN and ELD provider. Program apps ask for tracking.

YOUR BRIEF

Your preferences: lanes, home time, minimum rate

We dispatch by a short brief you set on the intro call and change whenever you want. Sketch yours here to see how we would use it. The floor rate is all-in: deadhead to the trailer counts, because on power only freight it often decides whether a load is worth taking.

Under this brief we would skip a 500-mile load that pays less than $1,438 all-in if it needs 75 empty miles to reach the trailer. We still tell you about near misses when the reload behind them makes up the gap.

Preview only. Nothing on this page is saved or sent; we set your real brief on the intro call.

YOUR CALL

How you approve every load

Nothing gets booked on your authority without your yes. A load offer from the desk always has the same parts: pickup and drop, what kind of power only move it is, empty miles to reach the trailer, the pay, the all-in rate per mile, and anything odd on the rate con such as interchange terms or a tight appointment.

Say no and we keep looking. Say yes and we book it, send you the rate con and handle the rest.

EVERY FRIDAY

Daily communication and your weekly report

During the week you hear from us when it matters: load offers, booking confirmations, appointment changes and a heads-up if a trailer isn't where it should be. Check calls to brokers go through the desk. At the end of each week you get a report like this one for each truck.

Onboarding questions

How long does it take to get my first power only load?

It depends on how fast broker setups clear on your lanes. Some brokers approve a carrier packet within hours; trailer-pool programs with insurance and safety checks can take longer, and some want a minimum authority age. We tell you where every setup stands on each call.

Can I still book my own loads?

Yes. Tell us about any load you book yourself so we can plan the next trailer around it. How self-booked loads are treated is spelled out in the dispatch agreement before you sign, so there are no surprises.

How do you talk to me during the day?

Mostly by text and phone, whatever you prefer. You get load offers with the math, booking confirmations, and a heads-up if a trailer isn't ready. We keep calls short while you are driving.

Do I need a particular ELD or app?

No particular brand. Most brokers and programs ask for location tracking on each load, so you need a working ELD and a phone that can run the tracking app the broker or program uses.

How do I cancel?

Give 30 days written notice. There is no exit fee. Your authority, insurance and broker setups belong to you and stay with you.
